The Washing Line Run

“Coming home from the 2-4 with somebody else's sheets over your shoulder.”
It's a race back from the chip shop, but not for chips. We've liberated a neighbour's bedsheets from their washing line, and now they're magnificent capes. The only problem is the owner, who has just stepped out of his front door. Do we drop the sheets and run, or can we make it home before he sees?
“My mum's going to... absolutely kill me.”
From the back cover
Some kids run home from the chip shop. Other kids fly. All it takes is a clean set of bedsheets from a neighbour's washing line, and suddenly you're a superhero.
But even superheroes have enemies. And this one is standing right by his front door, wondering where his laundry's gone. As for the grown-ups, they're none the wiser.
