The Fire Extinguisher Disco

“Borrowed decks, borrowed extinguisher, borrowed trouble. The bass sounded white.”
Every school disco needs a smoke machine, but the village hall doesn't have one. What it does have is a fire extinguisher. In a moment of pure genius, someone aims the nozzle at the dancefloor and pulls the pin. The result is instant, thick, and not at all what anyone was expecting. The music stops. Everyone stares.
“The music was pumping... and then the world went white.”
From the back cover
The village hall disco is, frankly, a bit boring. It needs atmosphere. It needs drama. What it gets is a thick cloud of dry powder from a very enthusiastically deployed fire extinguisher. Suddenly, nobody can see the DJ, the tuck shop, or their own feet. The grown-ups thought it was just a power cut. They never found out.
