“Three stolen golf balls, one slingshot, and a greenhouse that had done nothing to anyone.”

It’s a sweltering summer Saturday and we’re bored. We’ve got a brand-new slingshot, but nothing to ping with it. Then we spot them, gleaming in the long grass at the edge of the golf course: three perfect, expensive-looking golf balls. Ten minutes later, from the top of the hill, we see a greenhouse glinting in the sun. Is it in range? We’re about to find out.

My hand pulled the elastic back... further... and further...

From the back cover

Some Saturdays, there’s nothing to do. On other Saturdays, you find three pristine golf balls by the fence and a brand-new slingshot in your pocket. From the top of the hill, a greenhouse roof seems to be calling your name. It looks a long way away. Then again, these are very bouncy-looking golf balls. The grown-ups are busy indoors, completely unaware that three small white asteroids are about to be launched into the sky.
