Dale And The BB Gun

“The police car slowed down. Dale hid the gun in a hedge. The hedge was not on his side.”
Dale's just got a new BB gun and he's showing it off to everyone. He's so busy being a tough guy, he doesn't spot the police car cruising slowly down the road. Dale panics, shoves the gun into the nearest garden hedge, and tries to look casual. But the policeman has seen him. And he's getting out of the car.
“Just act normal... he's looking right at us.”
From the back cover
There's a new menace in Bramblewick: Dale's BB gun. He's swaggering down the road like he owns the place, until a police car appears. A quick stash in a hedge should do the trick.
But this policeman seems unusually interested in Dale's gardening skills. The grown-ups never did find out why their prize-winning hedge looked so ruffled.
